I am a girly geek, a sys admin who subscribes to In Style. I love to cook, and I hate it when people pronounce fsck as eff-sack. I'm completely non-partisan when it comes to operating systems, but I have very strong opinions about shoes and purses. I think books are super-sexy, even the technical tomes I have to read for work. A notorious packrat, I still have my Hello Kitty pencil case from first grade. I didn't inherit my grandmother's talent at sewing or yarn work, but I'm still trying. I have no problem eating dinner while watching CSI. I totally can't seem to rid myself of my, like, California girl inflections... you know? I have mild to moderate OCD, and well-concealed, almost crippling social anxiety that doesn't allow me to come over without a baked good or bottle of something. I almost never wear pants - even in winter. I do a lot of travelling, but in between trips I take nesting to the next level. I am extremely clumsy, some have said that The Cure's Catch is about me ("...she used to fall down a lot... that girl was always falling again and again..."). I also stare and roll both my eyes and on the floor. I like British spelling and colloquialisms, the metric system, and the European equivalent of the finger.
